Yurii Kamyshnyi – finished the Art School in Zhitomir and the Grekov Art College in Odessa in 1982. He is the member of the National Union of Ukrainian artists, the member of the International Union of professional artists, the member of the International Union of artists under the auspice of UNESCO. Y.Kamyshnyi was awarded with the International prizes of Lesya Ukrainka (Kiev, Ukraine) and Nikolai Rerikh (St.Petersburg, Russia).

The artist conducted 6 personal Exhibitions during 2005-2006. In 2005 – the exhibition at Lviv art gallery; 2005 - the exhibition “Everyone loves his own homeland” in the Cultural Center of Ukraine in Moscow; 2006 - the exhibition in Rerikh’s House museum in Odessa. In 2005 – the international exhibition in the gallery of Lviv society of the art professionals” “-“Flowers for Pope John Paul II”; 2005 – the all-Ukrainian exhibition in the Lviv picture gallery – “The best artistic work on the theme of Ukrainian history”; 2005 – the international exhibition “Eros and Tanatos” (Belarus, Minsk); 2006 - the international exhibition in the (USA, New York).

In 2005 – the international exhibition in the gallery of Lviv society of the art professionals” “-“Flowers for Pope John Paul II”; 2005 – the all-Ukrainian exhibition in the Lviv picture gallery – “The best artistic work on the theme of Ukrainian history”; 2005 – the international exhibition “Eros and Tanatos” (Belarus, Minsk); 2006 - the international exhibition in the USA, New York.

In 2005 - the one-man exhibition in the Cultural Centre of Ukraine in Moscow, 2005 - participation of the work "The Apocalypse. And the seventh angel has sounded "in the competition "Eros and Tanatos", Belarus, Minsk, 2006 - the one-man exhibition in Rerich's House museum in Odessa. The works of Yurii Kamyshnyj are exhibited at the Lviv art gallery, at the museum of the Lesia Ukrainka in Kiev, the museum of N.K. Rerikh in Odessa, in the collection of the President of Ukraine, the speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

Yurii studies the phenomenon of Ukrainian culture. By painting the old-Ukrainian peasant huts from Polissia region the artist tries to preserve their history for the next generations. He says that traditional hut Ukrainian peasants are a symbol of family and Motherland.

The image exhibition “Traditional Ukraine” at the Embassy represents 4 4 artistic streams: landscapes of Ukrainian Polissia region, seashore of Crimea peninsula, Ukrainian still-life and colourful interpretation of Ukraine.

The publication of #3(31) 2006 of the National art-magazine “Painters of Ukraine” is overall dedicated to the masterpieces of Mr. Kamyshnyi. Painter works hard to create the painting and never makes copies of his work.
